VT Crime Scene Cleaning |
|
The scene of a homicide usually contains biological hazards due to bodily fluids from the victim or suspect. A crime scene also contains finger print dust, luminal, investigation stickers, writings and other products used by the authorities to do there investigations. The crime scene cleanup crew (CSCC) is prepared to handle the scene because they have their PPE, personal protective equipment and the proper training and certifications. The CSCC is cognizant of the bio-hazards and completes the task of crime scene decontamination of biohazards, and the post forensic cleaning of chemicals while wearing the respective PPE. At Baycon Corp our CSCC’s realize the problem with the Bio-Waste produced at these scenes, such as, the used PPE and the proper disposal of the waste. The CSCC wears their PPE and properly disposes of the produced bio-waste. They have accomplished all their responsibility at the scene in regards to the biological hazards, now they have to decontaminate their equipment and insure the "visitors" at the scene, are safe from contamination. The decontamination of ourselves, visitors and equipment is always addressed at the crime scene. We set up a decontamination zone at the scene of the crime. This is an area identified by the CSCC where equipment taken into the scene can be placed without worry about contamination. This is also the area where the CSCC can decontaminate themselves or their PPE’s. The decontamination area is designated after the CSCC has thoroughly examined and documented the scene by photographs and notes that will later be put into a file for later use by the authorities if the need should come. |
